Description
Berkeley Castle c.1950 F387 Ship. Built by Barclay Curle & Co. Ltd and launched on 19th August 1943. Scrapped on 29th February 1956. This was an carvette build for the Royal Navy and escorted various convoys, during the second world war. Serving principally as an air sea rescue. Unfortunately damaged beyond any repair while in dry dock at Sheerness Kent, by a North Sea flood. This is a real traditionally produced photo, not a postcard. Reverse has pencilled message: “Berkeley Castle 1950”. Has some album retention marks.
