Kent Hop Picking Hopfields Postcard. Traditional holiday scene, from the hopfields of Kent. Each year, South Londeners and Eastenders would journey to the hopfields of Brenchley, Paddock Wood, Yalding and surrounding areas, to pick and gather beer hops. In return for board and lodgings, and payment for their labour.
