Built in Glasgow by A. & J. Inglis and launched in January 1944. With a speed of around 20 knots and propulsion driven turbines from Parsons Marine Turbine Co. Used as a car ferry by the then Townsend Brothers from around 1949 until being resold to the Finnish operation W. Rostedt. Sold and renamed in various guises, including names, Halladale, Norden, Turist Xpresssen and Ferrymar III. Eventually decommissioned and scrapped from the 1970’s. A well preserved postcard from the quality publishers, Skyfoto. An excellent aerial view, with high gloss front. Has not been posted, although there is a notation on reverse which says 1953,Sept, outbound. Familiar Skyfoto all caps logo on reverse, all brown font and typeface.
